Book/Postcard Final Proposal (PLEASE VOTE & TURN IN INFO SHEET)

Information needed:
We have created a survey/information list for everyone to fill out. (WILL BE HANDED OUT IN YOUR RESPECTIVE CLASS) We hope to received 29 sheets back. The list is for everyone to fill out their name, full name, (first, middle initial, last), your email or website, hometown (city, state), something you enjoy doing, something interesting about you, and the number of books you are planning to purchase (yourself/family/friends) so we can order. These are information we are gathering from everyone. Everything may or may not be included, but as of right now, we would like to collect these things from everyone.
Please complete it and hand it to your P&B representative in your class by next Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011.

BOOK:

We have decided to order the books from BLURB book company.
-It will be soft cover.
-It will include closely around 70 pages.
-Each person will have 2 pages (1 spread): (One will be for text(name, info, etc), and one for image or collage images) *Please start planning and thinking about this)

Peers, you must VOTE on your preferred format.

*Do keep in mind, if you do not vote, the majority will select the choice and you will have to work with it. DEADLINE for the voting will be this Friday, Feb.11, 2011. Tallying and decisions will be finalized in order for us to start designing. We appreciate your participation.

OPTION A: 7 x 7 inch (square format)

OPTION B: 10 x 8 inch (landscape format)


Additional information: the cost for book per will amount to around $25.00.
*If we can raise enough money through bake sales or raffles, we could potential pay $0.00 for them.

POSTCARD:
We have decided to go with Overnightprints.
Rounded corner, glossy, nice card stock.
4 x 6 in postcard, 100 will be $20.97 per person. Group total will amount to $609.00

Things that will go on the postcard include:
-Name (full, first, middle initial, last)
-email OR website (those who do not have an email will just go with email)
-city, state
-title of image on the front, dimension, medium (digital, darkroom prints)
-VCU logo
-Senior Show, date, time, and location

ADDITIONAL CONCERNS:
We are wondering if it would be possible to sale things at the show as well.
I know catering is planned for the show, but things such as beverages could be sold by bottles or cans and earn us additional money.
Perhaps acquire an liquor license so that we can sell alcohol, if this is considered, we will have to contact and talk to Tracie or John to obtain permission.
Just some ideas we tossed around.

  2. And no one needs to print and email these info sheets. A rep from the book committee has enough copies for their class and will hand them out and collect them from their class members. So don't worry about doing this yourself.
